Spring Tombstone Talks

April 14th, 2024

 This years Spring Talk we are working with Herington Historical Society. We will be going through Sunset Hill Cemetery. There will be 6 people that will be portrayed. Tour times for the Spring Talk is 2:00 pm, 2:30pm 3:00pm and 3:30 pm 

Each tour lasts approximately one hour

Tickets are $5 per person


 



Memories of the Prairie

 June 15th,22nd and 29th July 6st, 13th 2024

Experience first-hand stories, educational programs and reenactors bringing history to life at the Historical Society and Museum on Saturdays during the summer. Come learn about the history of Dickinson County and Kansas from those that have lived it. The series culminates with an old-fashioned ice cream social.

 Ice Cream Social

July  20th 2024

 This annual event is a time to enjoy some home made ice cream and good fellowship. With a chance to take home a pie, cake, cookies or other bake good up for auction. Auction benefits the historical society.     


Heritage Days Festival

 October  5th , 2024

The annual Heritage Day Festival  features living history with blacksmith and antique agriculture demonstrations, steam engine carousel rides, an antique tractor show, a classic car show, model trains, vendor fair and much more. 


Tombstone Talks

 October 26th, 2024

On a dark night, experience a guided walking tour through a cemetery to hear re-enactors tell the stories of some of the more colorful characters of Dickinson County as we visit the Prairie Dell Cemetery Talmage Kansas. 


Old Fashioned Christmas

 December 7th-8th, 2024

Come enjoy an old fashioned Christmas in our lighted village with a live nativity in the barn, rides on the 1901 wooden carousel, a prairie Christmas in the authentic log cabin, live Christmas music, a craft for kids in the one-room schoolhouse, German foods in the historic Burkland Grocery Store and much more.
